To make something like that takes a LOT of practice man. Seriously just work at it night and day and eventually you'll get there.

Everyone wants a quick fix these days, you aint gonna be making sick tunes for a long time. That's just the way it is.

be original, make something that you just like the sound of? doesn't matter if its not a typical "garage" beat. if everyone wanted to copy someone else there would never be progression or unique styles or sounds?

its a pretty simple swingy 2-step beat, (i can draw it when i get home), just cut di drumloop n try to rebulit it, n after u can modify it n/or write yr own drums, but as i said der aint no rules in dis game

Consume as much of the sound as you can. That way you will build it a lot easier.

The actual pattern isn't too complex but the choice of samples and processing on them is really sweet. Something I kinda suck at really.

First off get a kick drum on beat 1 and get the snares down, they're in the same place every time and are dead on the strong beats, then put a hi hat on the off beats. Getting the strongest parts of the beat down first will help you get a feel for where the rest of it should go. The rest is a mixture of swung hits and slightly behind the beat programming, you also need the right type of sounds, normally a shaker, a few hi hats sounds (to keep things a bit varied) and a few percussion hits, they need to be pretty short and snappy to stop the tails of each sample getting in the way of the next instance of that sound (or any other).

By the way, if OP is still having trouble with this then I'd be happy to send you some midi files of my better garage beats. I'm no master but it might give you a better idea of how to start putting things together.
