L2S076: DYP – The Mystic E.P

Release date: 23rd April 2012
“Digital White Labels” available 16th April Exclusively from Juno Download

Details:

DYP – The Mystic E.P

Mystic // Call To Arms (feat Rekab) // Prayin // Every Day (Whistla Remix)

L2S076

L2S welcome back Perth producer DYP! Continuing on from his first release for L2S (Every Day E.P) DYP shows why he is garnering fans the world over with his productions.
“Mystic” starts proceedings with a blissed out, bass drenched, rolling 2 step track perfect for the summer. Next, joining DYP on production duties is Rekab on “Call To Arms”, an altogether tougher affair with megaphone samples, pounding bass, hard percussive melodies and looped vocals, this is one for all the serious Bass Fiends! For the 3rd track on the ep DYP has gone into full on hands in the air uplifting 4 x 4 territory and has crafted a track that you are sure to hear all summer long, “Prayin” loops a gorgeous vocal with uplifting keys, crisp drums and perfect sub bass. To round of the release DYP has drafted in Whistla to remix “Every Day” to devastating effect, dropping the track’s original vibe and taking an entirely new approach, utilizing chopped and skewed breakbeats, smooth chilled pads, deep sub bass and reworked vocals.

Whistla – Enter The Swivel

The Underground // Way 2 Dark // Music In My Dreams // 4 U // Cruel Devil (feat Littlefoot) // Horny // Get Right Down // N35 // My Father & I Remix // Head Swim // Tears In The Abyss // Pause

The hotly anticipated Whistla full length album has arrived and it’s as good as we all were hoping! Whether your a die hard “Swiveller” or a newcomer to Whistla’s sound this release will have something for you.
Whether you like the vibes to be deep or more upfront there is plenty to sink your teeth into on “Enter The Swivel”. For the deep heads how about opener “The Underground” featuring Whistla himself on vocal duties, or how about the ambient meets techy vibe of “N35″ with it’s night bus samples and deep bass. Long time swivel head? No problem, check out the trademark vocal psychedelia of “Music In My Dreams”, the long awaited “My Father and I Remix” and the simply stunning “Tears In The Abyss”. Want something a bit harder? Check out the gritty LFO bass weight of “Head Swim” or the hypnotic dancefloor vibes of “Way 2 Dark”, or the deep wobbler “Horny”. Catchy vocals are a Whistla speciality and on his album is no exception with tracks like “4 U”, “Get Right Down” and “Cruel Devil” (featuring Littlefoot on joint production duties) all sure to be stuck in your head after just one listen. “Pause” ends the LP perfectly with looped grooves and atmospherics chilling things down.

Stompbox: Leaving Your Idol EP

Dubporn Records plans to release the Leaving Your Idol EP from UK producer Stompbox as its 13th release to date.

Stompbox is the latest producer to hit the increasingly popular ambient, garage scene. A producer for 2 years, his initial work focused on Drum & Bass but his scope and direction changed after listening to the album “Untrue” by Burial. His main cited influences include Ghostek, Skream, Burial and Clubroot.

Leaving Your Idol is his first official release after releasing his free ‘Shutter’ EP with Dubporn Records in December 2011. Featuring six heavenly tracks, LYI is the perfect soundtrack to a midnight trek through the city, an exceptional accompaniment to heartbreak, or a blissful end to your bass filled night.

The EP will be released digitally on May 7th and can be purchased at one of many fine online retailers worldwide.

Recently voted one of the top 5 Electronic music labels by the Miami New Times, Dubporn records continues to put out releases that challenge and push the envelope in deep dubstep, future bass, and downtempo.

Re: Releases: In Shops NOW!

Postby Mike Hindle » Mon May 14, 2012 8:56 am

Out today exclusive to Bandcamp with a full release due 2nd June, is our second IA Records release. Featured on XLR8R and Soundplate with DJ support from Phon.o, Photonz, io, Simon/off, Lakosa, The Elementz, Magnum, Octa Push, Jo Kira, Flore and loads more.

Image

19 year old Leeds based producer Adam Fennell aka Corporal F follows up his recent 'Heat Up EP" on Hot N Heavy with this joint EP on IA Records with a good friend of his, Dan Smith based in Huddersfield, who produces under the name 1point5.
The guys collaboration "Totality" is a step towards a much darker vibe, keeping everything fairly striped back and focusing on a moody atmosphere that brings dubstep and techno influences together effortlessly.
It's more of the same with Corporal F's 2 individual tracks. "CCS" is an absolute monster, fans of Boddika take note, this one's gonna blow up! Following this is "Darkin", a growling beast ready to completely destroy the dancefloor with the beats taking an unexpected turn toward the latter half of the track.
1point5's "Yes Today" rounds off the EP with some 4/4 garage business, this one will get you bouncing for sure. The huge warping bassline is a definite crowd pleaser for the old school heads.
IA002
Released: 14th May - Bandcamp, full release 2nd June.
Mastered by David Eley @ The Grand Masters.
Photography by Kevin Dooley, additional artwork by Mike Hindle.

You can grab the EP for a reduced price of £2.99 over at our Bandcamp page with a choice of formats including MP3 and FLAC. http://immersedaudio.bandcamp.com/album/totality

Laney
'Let It So' EP
(Slime Recordings)

1.Let It So
2.Old George

Cat.No : SLM031

"One of the UK’s finest and most enlightened digital labels" - Loudat

"Always a haven for upcoming talent, Slime Recordings continue to generate heat" - Juno Download

Slime ventures into the heartland of garage for this release from Birmingham producer Laney. Switching up the styles between 2-step, funky and house, all his tracks are infused with melody and a natural sense of rhythm. For his debut release on the label, he offers up two dancefloor rollers that cross the streams of UKG & funky with remarkable ease.

'Let It So' breaks out the gate with a modulated synth line rolling into clipped vocals and bubbly percussion. Skittering beats switch in and out from garage to house rhythms making for a playful and inventive club anthem.

'Old George' takes the template further with a moody rollout full of melody and some outstanding beatwork that will get any dancefloor moving.
