Sound design: My Nu Leng hollow bass

Comes in at 1.16 just after the drop

Any ideas? I know the basics of making a hollow bass but i just can't get the shape or texture right.
Using massive, but any information would be helpful

sounds like notch filter automation and some overdrive or distortion. techniques you hear more in darkside dnb and neuro than garage!

the attack, decay and release all sound tweaked too...its probably lots of different bass hits exported as samples and reconfigured, or just some really neurotic automation/modulation

Yeah I'm hearing more and more darker sounding hollow basses in garage/house music at the moment. Thanks! I think you're right about it being loads of different bass patches.

Its essentially Ring Modulation of Square waves - start with one oscillator first then add distortion and EQ to give it a bit more grit
